Anatomi Gamal (Gliricidia sepium (Jacq.) Kunth) pada Lahan bukan dan Bekas Tambang Mangan di Desa Oetalus, Nusa Tenggara Timur

Gamal is one of plants that grows on ex-mining manganese land in Oetalus Village. Information about the anatomy of gamal that lives around non-mining and ex-mining manganese land is not yet available. This research aims to analyze the comparison of anatomical characteristics of gamal in Oetalus Village. Comparison of anatomical characteristic was observed in size of cell and thickness of tissues in root, stem, and epidermis leaf, also stomata classification, density and index. The results show that the size of epidermis and phloem root cells in ex-mining land is higher but the size of cortex, endodermis, and xylem cells is lower compared to gamal in non-mining land. The size of epidermis and phloem stem cells is higher in ex-mining land, while the size of cortex, pith, and xylem cells is lower compared to gamal in non-mining land. The thickness of tissue in root and stem is higher in ex-manganese mining land. Gamal leaves in ex-mining land have longer epidermis, length and width of stomata guard cells and a higher number of stomata compared with gamal on non-mining land. Stomata on non-mining and ex-mining land are long with medium density and the stomata index is 40 and 40.4 respectively.
