Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of sunlight exposure duration on color changes of red fruit (Pandanus conoideus) pigment in a descriptive manner. The research was conducted using a simple method at home on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, utilizing basic equipment. Red fruit samples were observed after being exposed to sunlight for 0, 2, 4, and 6 hours. Color changes were visually observed by comparing samples exposed to sunlight with control samples covered with a black cloth. The results showed that longer sunlight exposure caused the color of red fruit pigment to change from deep red to pinkish and eventually brownish. The control samples showed relatively more stable color conditions. These findings indicate that red fruit pigment has low color stability when exposed to sunlight; therefore, appropriate storage conditions are required to maintain its natural color.
