Abstract

This study explores the potential of a natural wound ointment formulation combining areca nut extract (Areca catechu), coconut oil, shea butter, and essential oils. Areca nut extract is utilized as the active ingredient due to its tannin and flavonoid content, which provides antibacterial properties and accelerates wound contraction. The use of a coconut oil and shea butter base aims to create a protective layer that maintains skin hydration and ensures the even distribution of active substances. The addition of essential oils serves not only as a natural preservative but also provides a soothing aroma to the preparation. Through physical and stability testing, this formulation has proven to meet the standards for safe, effective, and stable topical applications, making it an innovative herbal solution for accelerating the natural wound healing process.
