Abstract

This research is a literature study that examines the comparative effectiveness of compost and chemical fertilizers on horticultural plants. The main objective of this research is to determine which of the two types of fertilizers is more effective in enhancing the growth and quality of horticultural crop yields, as well as to evaluate the environmental impact of using each type of fertilizer. Through a comprehensive literature analysis, this research found that compost has many advantages over chemical fertilizers in the context of horticultural plant growth. Compost has proven effective in promoting vegetative growth, improving yield quality, and enhancing soil health. However, the research also shows that a combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers can provide optimal results if applied wisely. This research concludes that the use of compost can be an effective solution to increase agricultural productivity while maintaining environmental sustainability. However, further research is needed to understand the specific interactions between different types of fertilizers and plant species to achieve optimal results in horticultural cultivation.
